Send a website message or email Miranda to request an initial consultation. She will confirm the appointment and discuss payment arrangements with you directly. Online booking and online payments are currently unavailable.

Initial consultations can be held by phone, by video, or in person when needed. Miranda arranges the mode privately with you once you reach out.

If Miranda determines during your initial consultation that she will offer representation on a contingency-fee basis, the $100 initial consultation fee will be refunded.

If the matter is not handled on contingency, Miranda will explain the proposed fee structure and, once the scope can reasonably be assessed, provide a good-faith estimate of expected legal fees before additional representation begins. She cannot promise an exact total when the scope is not yet known. The goal is to make legal fees as transparent and predictable as the nature of the matter allows.

If additional document review or research is needed before a reliable estimate can be made, Miranda will explain that work and its cost before it is performed.

The initial consultation covers the initial meeting only. Any additional legal services and fees will be discussed and agreed before additional work begins. A contingency arrangement does not mean that all case costs are waived.

Please do not send sensitive documents or detailed confidential information before Miranda explains what is needed. Contact alone does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Billing and scope options

• Hourly billing: legal fees based on the time spent on the agreed work.
• Defined or flat fees: an agreed fee for a clearly described service or scope of work.
• Limited-scope services: help with specified parts of a matter rather than representation in every aspect.
• Contingency arrangements: attorney fees generally paid from a recovery rather than billed by the hour, where appropriate. Not every claim qualifies, and case costs are discussed separately.

What happens after the initial consultation?

During the meeting, Miranda will learn about the legal issue, discuss options, and determine what type of representation may be appropriate. Some matters can be evaluated during the initial consultation. Others require deeds, contracts, court filings, medical records, business documents, title records, insurance documents, or other information. Miranda will explain what is needed before you send documents.

The next step may be a defined legal service, additional document review, ongoing representation, referral, co-counsel, or another attorney better suited to the matter.
