About Miranda
Local roots. A broad professional perspective.
Miranda Pugh is an Oklahoma attorney whose career has crossed law, business, technology, higher education, and organizational leadership. She has worked in Oklahoma and elsewhere in the United States, as well as in Canada, Ireland, and Namibia. After years of working in different places and professional settings, she returned to Southeast Oklahoma to build a practice serving the individuals, families, property owners, and businesses of the region she has always considered home.
Miranda grew up in Clayton and graduated from Talihina High School. She understands the communities of Southeast Oklahoma not simply as an attorney practicing here, but as someone who was raised here.
Legal and business experience
Miranda's legal experience includes real estate and title matters, business formation and advising, contracts, oil-and-gas property research, and the preparation of title opinions.
Before moving to Canada, she operated MSP Counsel, where she worked with individuals and businesses on business organization and formation, property and oil-and-gas research, and title matters. She also served as Of Counsel with Needham & Associates as a Title Opinion Attorney, preparing numerous legal title opinions involving Oklahoma property and mineral interests.
Her experience extends well beyond traditional legal practice. Miranda served as president of a professional-services company affiliated with a large oil-and-gas business, overseeing work involving technology, management, administration, contracts, and services provided to sophisticated corporate clients. That experience gave her a practical understanding of the decisions businesses face outside the courtroom—and of the value of legal advice that accounts for how a business actually operates.
She later worked with LexisNexis Canada, adding legal technology and legal information systems to an already diverse professional background.
Leadership and an international perspective
In Canada, Miranda served as Executive Director of Development for Queen's University Faculty of Law. In that senior leadership role, she worked across the law school and university on institutional strategy, major initiatives, complex relationships, and engagement with individuals and organizations whose interests often required careful judgment and long-term thinking.
Her career has also included work and study in Ireland and Namibia. Those experiences, together with years spent living and working in Canada, have given Miranda a perspective that extends well beyond a single type of practice, industry, or community.
She brings that perspective home without losing sight of what matters most in a local law practice: understanding the problem, communicating clearly, and helping a client find a practical path forward.
Education and legal training
Miranda graduated from Cornell University and later earned her law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law, graduating in the top 10% of her class.
During law school, she developed a particular interest in advocacy and trial work and was named Trial Skills Competitor of the Year. She also completed a judicial externship with Judge Linda Morrissey in Tulsa and studied law in Dublin, where she worked with an Irish senator and gained firsthand experience with the legislative process.
Community and Indigenous engagement
Miranda is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and has longstanding connections to Native communities.
While attending Cornell, she lived in Akwe:kon, Cornell's residential program centered on Indigenous students and community, served as a resident advisor, and was active in the Native student community. Her professional and volunteer work since then has continued to include Indigenous organizations and communities in the United States, Canada, and internationally.
Miranda previously served on the board of IITIO from December 2022 through 2024. She chairs its Fundraising Committee.
Coming home
Miranda's career has taken her through courtrooms, law firms, businesses, universities, technology organizations, and communities far from Southeast Oklahoma. Returning to Clayton gave her the opportunity to bring those experiences together in one place.
Her practice is built around the idea that clients should be able to receive thoughtful, sophisticated legal help without losing the accessibility and personal relationship that come with working directly with their lawyer.

Miranda uses generative AI and other technology tools in her legal workflow, including research, drafting, document review, analysis, and organization. These tools operate under Miranda’s direction and human oversight, and Miranda remains responsible for legal judgment, strategy, review, and client work.
Miranda uses AI in a client’s matter only with the client’s approval and understanding of how it will be used in that specific matter.
Miranda also assists businesses and individuals in understanding and responsibly adopting generative AI.
